Jonathan San Miguel’s Dream Destination

“This might really be paradise… perfect waves, empty lineups, and an untouched slice of Indonesia’s raw beauty.” – Jonathan San Miguel Gonzalez

Jonathan’s trip to Sumbawa, Indonesia, was a dream come true for any surfer. “The waves were perfect, fast, powerful, and incredibly consistent” Jonathan told us. “What made it even better was how many different surf spots were packed into a small area, you can ride a barreling reef break in the morning, then move just a short distance to find a playful, rippable wave in the afternoon.”

Unlike other popular surf destinations, Sumbawa felt untouched Jonathan explained. “There were hardly any tourists, which meant empty lineups and more waves on each session. The locals were some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met, always smiling, always welcoming, and happy to share their beautiful island.”

“But what really stood out was the local surf scene. The young surfers there were absolutely fearless, charging massive waves and pulling off crazy maneuvers with ease. Watching them was both humbling and inspiring.”

“Sumbawa wasn’t just another surf trip, it was an adventure I will never forget.” – Jonathan San Miguel Gonzalez

Matt Etxebarne first ever to foil Mavericks

“I trained a lot and didn’t look to any other forecast than Mavericks to stuck to my goal for this winter season” – Matt Etxebarne

Did we see that good? Foiling Mavericks? Yes, Matt Etxebarne did it again! Last year, he surprised the whole surfing industry when he surfed one of the biggest waves and the first ever foiled wave at world famous big wave Jaws, Hawaii. “For this year, I had one and one only goal and that was to foil Mavericks” Matt tells us. “I spent all year training so hard, and when the big wave season started I just closed myself from all forecasts and only concentrated on the biggest day possible at Mavericks.

A couple of months later and here we are! The swell was looking use and Matt took his flight to San Francisco, and drove over to Mavericks. “The locals gave me insights which kind of stressed me out” Matt continues to explain. “Under the water at Mavericks there are these kind of craters which are very dangerous if you end up inside with your foil”. After that I didn’t know if it was gonna be possible, besides, the wave has a big build up in the last section before it breaks which scared me a lot as well.

“I arrived two days before the huge swell, where luckily I could kind of try out a little bit the wave”. On the big day we were on the boat and I only saw wave after wave the swell picking up. I was kind of jet lagged and tired which made me worry also a little bit more. I was in the lineup and Drake was towing me in, it was super cold and it was kind of crazy being in the lineup with all the locals.

“After about 20-30 minutes waiting in the lineup finally we saw a wave upcoming that looked to be for us. I fast prepared and we went for it, I took the wave and got like the most of speed I ever got on my foil. The feeling was so special, and when I finished the wave all boats and jet ski’s were cheering for me, the experience was indescribable.

After that first wave I was like I wanna take another one but I’m kind of tired, so I took a break. Towards the end of the day I took a couple of other waves. On the third one the white water touched me and dragged me under the water. When I came up I saw my foil broken, so I was like “that’s part of the game, prefer to see the foil broken rather than myself, haha!”

“As last, I would love to mention the incredible energy between all the surfers that were out there. All the locals received me so well and everybody was pushing each other. It was crazy to be there between all the famous big wave faces and I really can’t wait to go back! Thanks to you all!” – Matt Etxebarne

From Surflogic we just want to say thanks Matt, thanks for inspiring not only us as a surf brand but for inspiring all the world to show we didn’t see everything that is possible yet when it comes to surfing waves. We are so happy to support you and we can’t wait to see what other adventures of you are still unfolded! Cheers buddy!

London Almida and a three day adventure along the Portuguese coast

“Amazing surf all by myself, until the sun went down behind the ocean.” – London Almida

“The first day was nothing too special or out of this world, but we got super clean and fun conditions at Nazaré praia do Norte, which is always is super fun. I went out for a session without almost nobody in the water and got a couple of super fun waves, but the real interesting thing was still waiting for us until the next day…”

London continues to tell us about the second day of the adventure; “Now here is where things are getting interesting! On the second day, we went to some parts of the beaches that we didn’t really surf yet. We found this slab that seemed to be surfable, and after looking at it for a long time I decided to go out. There were a few really heavy barrels breaking, and I took a few hard beats, but also really got some waves there which I will remember.

¨On the last day of the adventure we went to search for something different, something less crazy and more for turns and rail to rail surfing. We came across a rock slab which ended up with a super fun session!¨

Thanks a lot for sharing your story with us London! That looked like a decent 3-part-adventure with some very nice waves. London tells all his stories through his new YouTube account which we highly recommend to check out through the following link:

Txintxe Alberdi on a late season Maldives expedition

“THE MALDIVES CONVERTS INTO A LIQUID SKATEPARK IN IT’S LATE SURF SEASON.” – Txintxe Alberdi

Opting for this quieter period, Txintxe sought smaller, cleaner conditions ideal for aerial maneuvers and rail-to-rail transitions. The glassy waves and less crowded lineups provided the perfect canvas to progress these styles.

Txintxe’s choice to explore the late season paid off and made the most out of every ride in the tropical paradise! By the way, we like your hat Txintxe!

Kites and Roads: A road trip from the Netherlands to Tarifa, Spain

¨Tarifa is one of Europe’s best kitesurfing spots known for its strong, steady winds which pushed us to go faster, jump higher, and try new tricks¨. – Stijn Mul

The SpaceX team went on an exciting road trip from the Netherlands to Tarifa, Spain, one of Europe’s best kitesurfing spots known for its strong, steady winds. They packed their vans with kites, boards, and some useful gear from Surflogic, including dry buckets and seat covers to keep things neat and dry.

“We made several stops in France at various kitesurfing spots to recharge and rest from the long hours on the road. When we finally arrived in Tarifa, the wind was very strong and blowing offshore, making it both thrilling and a bit dangerous. It pushed us to go faster, jump higher, and try new tricks. Competing in the local contest at Balneario was an amazing experience too.”

“As we packed up to head back to the Netherlands, we reflected on our adventure. We had seen beautiful places, ridden great waves, and made awesome new friends. The Surflogic gear was with us the whole way, making our trip easier and more fun. It allowed us to focus on what mattered most—enjoying our kitesurfing, without worrying about our gear.”

“On the drive home, we were already planning our next adventure. This trip was packed with fun and excitement, and we couldn’t wait to hit the road again. Until then, we’ll keep dreaming of the wind, the waves, and the incredible thrill we experienced on this journey.”

Thanks to Space X Kitesurfing for sharing their experiences with us!

Txintxe Alberdi in the Land of Smiles

“Sri Lanka is this magic location which offers the perfect combination of surf, wildlife, and cultural experiences.” – Txintxe alberdi

¨Looking the forecast before leaving home, I saw the waves were not going to be big and perfect, so I took my 5’6 for choppy beach breaks and for better conditions my 5’9.  Besides I packed 4 fins, 3 pairs for normal conditions and one pair for the better days, all together in the Surflogic Board Bags and Accessories Pouch. ¨

“Besides surfing, Sri Lanka offers lots of things to explore like for example the famous train crossing the 9 arch bridge. The country also offers multiple safari options to see wildlife which is an exciting adventure for in-between surf sessions.”

¨I would recommend Sri Lanka to all travelers who both want a nice cultural experience as well as some fun waves. The beaches are beautiful, and the local food is delicious. The train rides through the hills are a must-see, and the safaris are full of amazing wildlife. The people are friendly and welcoming. For me it has been an unforgettable time and I believe for others it will be so too. If you love adventure, nature, and meeting new friends, Sri Lanka is the place to go.¨

A new product born from the demands of our Big Wave Surfers

Multiple of our Big Wave Surfers came to us with a common problem: the struggle of transporting multiple pieces of equipment fast and on the go when waves are absolutely firing. Besides, they needed a simple, practical solution to dry and store their wetsuits and impact vests together. Understanding their needs, we crafted the Vest Hanger Vpro.

With this new hanger, their post-surf organization became a breeze. With its multifunction hand grip, portability is effortless, allowing for easy transportation of all gear essentials. Plus, it features additional hooks for hanging helmets or hoodies, ensuring nothing gets left behind.

However this product was crafted for Big Wave Surfers, it isn’t just for them; its very practical to a wide range of water sports enthusiasts, including wing foilers and kitesurfers, kayak, jetski or any other sports where a impact or life vest is required. The Vest Hanger Vpro simplifies gear management, offering convenience and organization for all aquatic adventures.

Txintxe Alberdi | The local knowledge in Senegal

¨When I first got here, everything felt so different! But then, in just a few minutes, I realized something incredible: the people here and the waves you can catch are absolutely awesome! – Txintxe Alberdi

Africa was always somewhere I dreamed of going. When I decided to go on my own adventure, picking a destination was a no-brainer. I looked at the maps showing where the waves were going to be best, and after hearing all the fantastic things about this place, I knew it was time to pack my bags and head here.

I was staying in Dakar for the majority of time, and every day was like a new adventure waiting to happen. From exploring hidden beaches to trying out local things, there was always something exciting to do. The scenery in Senegal was breathtaking, picture-perfect sunsets and endless stretches of sandy beaches that seemed to go on forever. It’s safe to say, this trip was everything I hoped for and more.

“The locals were amazing! They took me to many different spots, and it felt as if I were one of their friends. After surfing together a lot, I couldn’t do anything else but leave my board as a gift for them.” – Txintxe Alberdi
